what the kids are saying

I love the things my kids say....sometimes. There have been moments I'll admit when I have been rather mortified (Rachel's "what the hell?" comment in church when she was 4), but for the most part they are simply adorable.

This week I have been sick with a miserable cold. It made the rounds through our house and then it was my turn. Yuck. Anyway, a couple of nights ago I was laying on my bed watching the Olympics and Jonathan came in to snuggle by me. (He is so cute that way!!)

He lays on my chest for about 5 minutes while I mess with his hair and then he says to me, "Mom, I can hear your heart".

I said, "Is it saying I love you"?

To which he replied without missing a beat, "I don't know. I don't speak heart".

LOVE THAT KID!!

Today while driving to Meghan's orthodontist appointment we are on a road that heads straight towards the mountains and then we get onto the freeway and go the rest of the way.

As we were almost to the turn right at the edge of the mountains (seriously, like that is ALL you can see...), Sidney, from the back seat, pipes up "Woah, those BIG mountains".

It was pretty hilarious at the time, but what I thought was the best was how well she gets her thoughts out verbally for a 2 year old. She is stinking smart!!
