It is much easier being a kid...I think

So, yesterday my 7 year old daughter cracked me tons. She said some of the most interesting things. We were all sitting down to dinner together and she mentions her new friend Esperanza.
"Mom, it was great! I told her that she had a pretty shirt and then she asked me if I wanted to be her friend."

Do you remember those days? When life was so simple that all you had to do was ask someone to be your friend and they said yes. I think I go overboard a little pretending to be something I am not just to have people like me. It would be better and easier on me if I just acted like myself. Maybe I feel like I have something to prove since I am "just" a stay-at-home mom. As if that in itself isn't proving something!

Later, we were watching Survivor (yes, we are Survivor addicts) and one of the female castaways had these fire dancing things that she was spinning around and my daughter once again launches into extreme profoundness...
"Wow, she can spin those thingys better than me."

I swear, it was all I could do to not laugh out loud at that comment. My hubby and I looked at each other with a smile and then I said to my daughter,
"Have you ever used those things before?"

"Well, I do that with the broom when I am sweeping."

I just love reflecting on the NON-similarities.... She is funny...at least to me she is!

What's in your nose?

This is new for me...I got the idea from a friend. I just hope it doesn't bore anyone to crocodile tears reading it.
I am a mom. A stay-at-home mom. I love it. But...my kids are crazy sometimes and I NEED a place to escape to. Hence, the blog.
This morning my 2 year old boy wanted fruit snacks. He had just eaten breakfast, but I didn't want a fight so I caved and gave him the snacks. These fun little round yogurt-covered fruit snacks. Apparently they are perfect for sticking up one's nose. So he comes to me and says, " Mom, stuck mine nose". It takes me a minute to get the gist of what has truly occured and then I freak. But, no biggie... In the end, some tweezers worked fine to squish it and pull it out. I guess I shouldn't be so surprised about what he did. After all, when I was five I put a rock in my ear.
