Let's paint the town

I always try to have some fun craft or project for the kids to do when they are off track so that they aren't so bored and bugging me all the time.

This time I got those little ceramic figures that can be painted and let them go at it.

....and when you are all done painting the figurine....

you move on to your own hand. :)

spunky and sassy

While in Idaho, we stayed at Aunt Amy's house and visited her "salon"....better known as her kitchen. She cut my hair and then the girls begged her for a haircut as well. They LOVE their new haircut and I LOVE that it is so cute on them and I don't have to fight them every morning!

Thanks Aunt Amy!!!

meeting Sweet Avery

I am convinced that the only thing better than being a new mommy and holding a sweet baby of your own is being an aunt and holding a sweet new niece or nephew. We were lucky enough to spend a weekend in Idaho when the kids went off track and visit two of my sisters and spend time holding sweet baby Avery. Oh my, she is so adorable! Is it possible to be in love with a niece??? Cuz we are!!

me loving Avery

feeding her a bottle

Meg and Avery (she loves babies)

Jenny and Avery (she giggles around babies)

Rachel and Avery (she stares and stares at babies)

But Avery was happiest with her mommy...

oh goodness...

We have a tote that is chuck full of dress-up clothes and all the kids have enjoyed it through the years. Sidney is no exception to that either. She LOVES playing dress-up and often will bring me the ballerina leotard to help her put on. She always says " Mommy, Ina be a balderina". Brings a smile to my face every time.

woah....that's Cuh-razy!

It was crazy hair day at school today. Oh man. I couldn't think of anything fun and crazy to do with the kid's hair, so we stopped at Sally Beauty Supply and I picked up some hair paint. I made puff ball pony tails with the girl's hair and then sprayed it. For Jonathan, I made spiky hair and then did stripes. The kids were pretty pleased with the results....even though you can't tell by their faces....(namely Rachel the pouter)
...and of course Sidney HAS to be in every picture that I take. Ever.

Science Fair girls

Rachel's project was a Math/Probability project. She counted the M & M's in packages to see which color was the most common.

Meghan's project was a Botany project. She used common household liquids to determine which one was the best to use for sprouting beans.

Christmas craftin'

My older girls have magnet boards in their room which they dearly love because they put their drawings, pictures of their friends and the magnets we buy them on it. I buy the magnet boards in their natural form...just plain wood and I cover them with scrapbook paper and embellishments and then modge-podge the whole thing for durability and Voila!....it's a uber cute!

Jenny was begging and begging me for one of her own, so for Christmas I made her and Jonathan their very own. They were a big hit and that made me thrilled as well. Who doesn't like to be appreciated for the things they spend time making for someone else??

I can't wait for an excuse to craft more projects!!
