My kids are the best part of me.  I love them to bits and am so proud of the beautiful people inside and out that they are.

Blue and Gold....John Wayne style

I love serving in the cub scouts!  The highlight for me is the celebration we have for Blue and Gold every year.  It is fun to put on a party for the scouts and see them have so much fun!  This year we themed it around Cowboys and stuff.  We had a guy come and teach the boys to calf rope.  We had good grits!  And of course we posed for pictures with John Wayne. 

Rachel is 13

 Today the craziest, most fun, blondest (through and through) girl we know turned 13.  She is becoming quite the young lady.  We love her so much and are so grateful she is a part of our family.  She is thoughtful and kind and always trying to make us laugh.

the hazards of hurdles

Six stitches is what you'll get when you attempt the hurdles at track practice and fall and rip up your lip instead.  Meg biffed it bad and this is the end result.  A whopping 6 stitches so that hopefully she won't have too much scarring right on her kisser!!  I guess it's a good thing she isn't doing any kissing!!

There was an assembly at the school today and even though we were off track we headed on over.  Brandon Mull, who is the author of a couple different series of books that the kids love, was presenting at the school.  He was super fun and Jenny and Jonathan had a blast!!  We even got one of our books signed by him.
