Daddy/Daughter Date and the poodle skirts

Okay....just remember...you asked to see it. And please keep in mind that the camera adds 10 pounds, plus it's like 3 yards of felt which has got to add a good 50 pounds. So really, I am only 105 pounds. Skinny really. *And apparently in a state of denial as well.

Rachel (left) and Meghan (right) in their poodle skirts.

Here is me (big fat hippo wearing the truquoise skirt) and cute skinny daughters all decked out and ready to go.We borrowed this "HOG" from a leader's husband and took pictures of each of the girls with their dads on it. It was so fun! All the girls LOVED this part of the entire night! Here are my cuties with their Daddy. He was a party pooper and did not dress up. Some of the dads really got into it. There were a couple of letterman jackets from Clearfield and one from Davis, a couple of dads with slicked back hair and rolled up sleeves. It was great!

And the best part? IT'S DONE! We don't have to do another until September when we do our Mommy/Daughter. And it's gonna be a spa day activity. Mani's and Pedi's and massages. WOOHOO!

The zoo!

We went to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake for Rachel's birthday on Friday. I must admit that we had not been for a while. Really, I just felt sad for all the animals that were destined to wither away and die as they "lived" there. But hey, they have redone a lot of stuff there and it is much better! No more dinky small Elephant exhibit. It is quite large and the elephants were actually outside and looking happy! And the wild cats (ie Tigers, Leopards, etc) have had their exhibits redone as well. They are no longer housed in little 5x5 cages. It was great! We did the math and we had not been since Jonathan was barely 1, so about 3 1/2 years. If you haven't been in that long either, then get to the Zoo! It's better now! Mom and the kiddos at the waterfall in the front.
Sidney reaching up and grabbing Jonathan during the train ride. funny thing, he didn't even notice.

Daddy and the kiddos in front of the Elephant statue. (this is new since our last visit) All the kids by the Elephant head thing. This is tradition to take a picture here.
with the giraffe in the background
the kids sitting on the tigers. (this is new also)
Meghan giving Rachel a piggy-back ride. It lasted just long enough for me to get my camera out and snap the picture. Meghan said, "she's too heavy". I said,"well yeah, she weighs the same as you!"

Vanilla Snickers

If you read my blog at all, chances are that you know that on Wednesdays I do some kind of a quiz. It is fun for me and I hope for you also. I think it is catching on because more and more of you lurkers are leaving comments. I love that! It feels great. Almost like I am popular or something. Probably the something....

Anyway, I thought about doing one I found about "what kind of stripper are you?"...and then I rethought that thought and didn't. WHEW! That might make you all think weird things about me. And then when I was blog-surfing yesterday, I happened on to Wanderer in a Strange Land and she had some fun name changer things that I loved!! They are so fun. You can go directly there and see them for yourself. (And do them also!!) Here are a couple of mine that I really liked...
